should know that the Chinese variant does not have NFC, while the European one

A Gaming Smartphone With Several Distinctive Features
As you may have guessed, for reasons of embargo, at the
moment we cannot overbalance ourselves too much about RedMagic 6. We can in
fact only perform a sort of "unboxing", publishing photos and 3D
visualization, illustrating the technical data sheet and taking a fleeting look
at the design. You will forgive us, therefore, if here we will only touch the
surface of the device, but there will be a way to deepen it properly during the
review phase.
In any case, the aspects of the smartphone that stand out
right away are two: the particularly high refresh rate of the screen and the
RedMagic Dual-core Cooler accessory, which will probably be sold separately.
In the first case we refer to the presence of a 6.8-inch
AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), refresh rate of
165 Hz and touch sampling rate of 500 Hz. In other words, RedMagic is aiming
where so far. no one else has gone so far, as today's market features
"only" a few 144Hz screens. Too early to make judgments, but what we
need to understand is whether this greater fluidity will actually improve the
gaming experience.
Instead, the double fan with RGB LEDs has already captured
our hearts, which must be connected to a power source in order to function.
Having a power outlet near the bed available, the gaming experience can become
very comfortable and the design winks particularly at gamers. This is the
natural evolution of last year 's Ice Dock , but this time the look is more
captivating and the product seems to have succeeded better in general. Don't
get us wrong: it remains an accessory not exactly for everyone, but it is not
yet time for judgments.
On the other hand, nothing can be said about the internal
components of the product, which on paper is top of the range: Qualcomm
Snapdragon 888, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory. All
this is backed up by a 5050 mAh battery, flanked by 66W charging (as mentioned
above, there is a 30W charger in the box). For the rest, the connectivity
sector is complete, including Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, Dual SIM, NFC, audio jack for 3.5
mm headphones and Bluetooth 5.1.
On the other hand, dealing with the peculiar
characteristics, we find the inevitable cooling system based on an internal fan
and vapor chamber, as well as the backlit RedMagic logo and two LED zones on
the back, which can be activated in various contexts.
For the moment, but we reiterate that we are still in a
preliminary phase of testing, the aspects that may not astound seem to be the
photographic department and the software. The former has three rear sensors of
64MP, 8MP (ultra-wide) and 2MP respectively, as well as an 8MP front camera.
The working system is Android 11 with RedMagic OS 4.0 customization.
For the rest, we must not forget the presence of the dorsal
triggers at 400 Hz , which act as "controllers" in certain phases of
the game. If you are wondering what the dimensions of the device are, these are
equal to 169.86 x 77.19 x 9.8 mm, for a weight of 220 grams. The materials used
are metal for the frame and glass for the backcover.
Differences Between Redmagic 6 And Redmagic 6 Pro
The device that we will analyze in our future review will be
RedMagic 6, but the most attentive among you will surely know that a Pro
variant of the gaming smartphone is also on the market , which will be sold at
a price of 699 euros. You must therefore know that the latter differs mainly
for memories, colors and materials. RedMagic 6 Pro has 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and
256GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory. Furthermore, instead of the Eclipse Black
color of RedMagic 6, here the choice fell on the Moon Silver edition.
